About

Since childhood, I have breathed a human soul into whatever passes through my hands.

Branches, pebbles, erasers on which I drew faces, soft toys for which I invented little dens: I have always needed to create a parallel world, an intimate territory where the inanimate came to life.

After studying fashion design, I created a fashion website that has existed for nearly twenty years. On it I analyse trends, colours, lines, volumes, balances and silhouettes. This attention to shapes and materials found a natural extension the day I asked my father, a potter, to teach me to throw clay.

For four years I practised diligently, before feeling the need to step away from technical craft and play with clay in another way.

And so were born creatures from elsewhere, nourished by my love of the underwater world, by the Brothers Grimm tales that lulled my childhood, by my fascination with distant galaxies, the shifting shapes of clouds, the movement of the waves, the colours of marshmallows and the intelligence of octopuses.

Each piece is modelled by hand. Working their coat is slow and painstaking, and it is through this gradual building-up that I little by little get to know the creature taking shape. Often, its story emerges at that very moment.

Every sculpture forces me to start again from a new form, with its own constraints, balances and fragilities. Even when the gestures are mastered, each time they must adapt to a different piece. Every stage carries its share of uncertainty, and the final result only truly reveals itself at the end of the process. When a sculpture comes through all these stages, it carries within it that measure of risk and the unknown that makes it unique.

Unique, imperfect and tender, they trace the outlines of a new tribe. Mine.
